Step-by-Step Instructions for Drawing a Museum
How to Draw a Great Looking Museum for Kids, Beginners, and Adults - Step 1
1. Begin by drawing the foundation of the building. Start with a horizontal straight line. From its center, extend two zigzag lines at diagonal angles. Connect them at the bottom with a straight line to enclose the staircase.
Then, draw straight diagonal and vertical lines at each end of the original line. Connect the bottoms of the vertical lines to the stairs with additional straight lines.

2. Draw straight lines across the staircase to indicate the individual stairs. Then, draw the bases of the columns. Use curved lines to enclose incomplete semicircle shapes. Band each shape with a curved line.

3. Extend pairs of curved lines upward from each semicircle. Connect the lines at each end. Then, draw a small rectangle at the top of each column. Above one of the rectangles, extend two short lines. Then, draw a spiral-shaped line on each side.

4. Complete the second column to match the first. Extend two short lines, then draw a spiral-shaped line on each side. Next, enclose a large horizontal rectangle spanning the two columns. Draw the base of a third column and band it with a curved line.

5. Draw the base of the fourth column. Then, complete each column. Extend pairs of curved lines for the sides of the columns, and place a small rectangle on top of each. Connect the bases of the columns with straight lines, completing the porch.

6. Extend a pair of short lines upward from one of the columns, then draw a spiral-shaped line on each side. Draw two horizontal rectangles on top of the column, connected to the other columns and their rectangle on one side.
Draw a small rectangle on top, and connect the spiral filigree work of the first columns with a straight line.
Easy Museum Drawing - Step 7
7. Draw the spiral filagree of the final column, and the rounded rectangles above it. Then, draw a pair of straight horizontal lines between each of the outer columns.

8. Draw a rectangle on the front of the building just above the steps to form the doors. Draw a vertical line down its center. Draw a rectangle and a square with rounded corners to texture each door.
Use small circles for the doorknobs. Then, draw arched windows on each of the five open spaces on the front of the building. For each, use three straight lines to create a partial rectangle shape. Then, complete the shape with a curved line.
Complete the Outline of Your Museum Drawing - Step 9
9. Enclose two triangle shapes on top of the building, one within the other. Then, draw a small circle to form a final window. Bar the arched windows with straight vertical and horizontal lines that cross each other at perpendicular angles. Write the word "MUSEUM" in the large rectangle using bold letters.
Color Your Museum Drawing
Color your cartoon museum. Buildings like this may be of white or cream-colored marble, brownstone, or red bricks.
Did you know? The six WonderWorks museums located across the United States look very much like this one - only the building is upside down! Turn your paper upside down and draw some cracks on the stone building to take a field trip to WonderWorks.
